Weekly Blah Blah #42908 0
Well good morning, Nadas Nation. I hope you all are having an excellent week.   I know the band is; we’re all taking advantage of a few days at home to rest up from what has been a very busy spring.
Thanks to everyone who came out last week as we made our way out to New York City and back home. It was a great trip – even if judged only by the scenery. But we enjoyed the shows, the people, some great food, and the lack of issues with Meatloaf. That reminds me, though, that I had a dream last night that as I was driving Meatloaf down the interstate it completely shut down and we rolled to a stop. I tried repeatedly to start it again but to no avail. Sad. Fortunately it was only a dream. Anyway, the trip out east was a lot of fun. We played with O.A.R., made our long-overdue return to Schuba’s in Chicago, rocked the nation’s capital, and finally made it to the city that never sleeps. In the middle somewhere we managed to enjoy the night life of Lexington, KY ( I will be back, Lexington).
Now we are all safely back home. But we’re not done with shows. So let’s get down to business.   Three shows this weekend, three places we love to play.
#1 – Thursday, May 1. Cunningham’s in Kearney, NE. It’s been a couple of months. Now we’re back with a new record and hoping to help the students in town celebrate their graduation. Music starts at 10:00PM.
#2 – Friday, May 2. Gothic Theatre in Denver, CO. That’s right, back to Denver. “At the Gothic?” You ask. Yes, indeed. Pretty cool, eh? We’re all looking forward to it. Doors are at 8:00PM, DVS & Chantel on stage at 9:00PM, The Nadas at 10:00PM.
#3 – Saturday, May 3. Knuckleheads in Kansas City, MO.   The people at Knuckleheads are some of the coolest people out there. We’ll be playing with a pile of other bands on Saturday as the club throws a benefit for the Saint Luke’s Health Foundation. Music starts at 5:00PM. The Nadas will play at 11:30PM. Come on out and party with us.
I’ll be honest, I am looking forward to this trip. These shows feel like homecomings. I’ll get to see some great friends and eat some top shelf food (The Dish Bistro in Denver). I just hope it isn’t raining the whole time. I need some sun.
What? I don’t know.
Oh, here’s something cool for you. And I mean this is going to be a great party. I can’t give you ALL of the details but let me just say this – June 7, The Nadas, big party, a famous Iowa Rye Whiskey distillery. Okay. Mark that day on your calendar and plan on doing whatever we’re doing. Gather your favorite party crew, batten down the hatches.
Right. That is all for now. I need to get back to packing boxes so I can move before we leave town. Hopefully I get to see record numbers of you this weekend. Until then, be as good as you want.
Love and Kentucky Landscapes,
Dr Tyler & The Nadas
