Authentic Records is dropping TWO new releases this week, Josh Davis’ “Mix Tape,” and Benjamin Wagner’s “The Invention Of Everything Else.”

Josh Davis’ “Mix Tape” is a little bit country, a little bit pop, and a whole lotta’ rock ‘n roll. The five-song EP is just a taste of what’s to come this fall when JDB unleashes its full-length LP, “Get Awesome,” on an unsuspecting world.

Benjamin Wagner’s “The Invention Of Everything Else” is the Iowa City-born, New York City-based singer/songwriter’s first release since his 2005Authentic debut, “Heartland.” The ten-track, full-band, mostly-acoustic LP features Benjamin’s New York City band mates, plus cameos from Nadas’ guitarist Ross VanderWerf, and local faves Stephanie Walsmith, Tony Bohnenkamp and Josh Davis.

Both “Mix Tape” and “Invention” were produced by our own Jon Locker at his Sonic Factory Studios in Des Moines, Iowa.

Josh’s CD Release show is TONIGHT at People’s Court. Both performers will be appearing at The Authentic Records’ Unsanctioned & Uncensored Hy-Vee Triathlon Benefit & After-Party on Sunday, June 22 at AK’s in Beaverdale. Stay tuned for more info on that…
