The Nadas – Almanac on iTunes. 0

Mar16

Much like Navin R. Johnson when he found himself in the phonebook and an exclaimed “I am somebody!”, as of today you can find our new record, Almanac, on iTunes proving that as a band, we too, are some-bodies. Go here if you have resisted all of our other pleas for you to purchase other places. We realize some of you are die hard iTunes fans. If that is the case, it is available now.  . . .

Hey Gang,

The warmer weather here is melting all this ice and snow, so it must mean Spring is around the corner, which in Nadaland means our Spring Almanac Record Release tour is here! I am not sure which I am more excited about. The tour would win hands down under normal circumstances but check out what I had going on right outside my front door for the last month. Yep you see correctly, those ice cycles are touching the ground! You also may notice that my Christmas lights are still up but let’s not talk about that.

Okay, so I guess I am more excited about the tour than the weather. We started last week in Ames, Iowa City, and Omaha and thank you to everyone who came out! I can only hope the entire tour stacks up to the first week. It’s fun for us to have a CD release show and have a majority of the audience know the tunes already. That is a very cool plus side to how we recorded Almanac. If you want your copy before we come to your town you can go to www.authenticrecordsonline.com and pick one up or download it.

This weeks shows:

March 12th- Live from The Java House- Iowa City, IA (live acoustic radio performance) it is free and they have great coffee.  2 pm start time.
March 13th- The Gothic Theater- Denver
March 14th- Avogadro’s Number- Fort Collins
March 15th- We are doing another show in Denver that would be good for families.  Email info@thenadas.com for more info

The entire tour schedule is up at tour page just in case you’re wondering if we’ll be hitting your town.

This week also we bid farewell to our Templeton Rye bus wrap and say hello to our new bus wrap supporting The World Bicycle Relief.  More on that later with pictures but check out www.worldbicyclerelief.org and see what we will be promoting this year.

SXSW. Will you be in Austin for SXSW?  We have a number of showcases on Friday and Saturday all free all with no need to have a badge or wristband. If you can only make one I recommend the only full band show at Darwin’s on 6th noon-3 on Saturday. It’s the Authentic Records annual SXSW day party and it should be as good a time as ever.

Can’t wait to see some of you out on the coasts we don’t get to see that often and those of you we do!

Also, we’re switching up our mailing list, so if you’d like to keep receiving our updates, just sign up on our site under the ‘Blah Blah Sign-Up’ widget located on the right-hand side of the site.

Love and Patches of Green Grass,
The Nadas

Tour update, Almanac pre-order, final residency at the Vaudeville Mews. . . . .
Hey Folks  – Jason here. It has been a while since we’ve sent the weekly blah blah. We have been laying a little low these past 2 months. Getting ready to release a record and drive several thousand miles takes some preparation. We have been repairing gear, resting vocal chords, putting together new wardrobes and I personally have been doing at least 10 sit-ups a day. Okay that last part was a stretch, but twiddling thumbs has some fitness benefit doesn’t it?

So here is the big news. . . . our tour is almost completely confirmed. We are waiting on a few more shows to confirm that look like they are going to be in Brooklyn, Atlanta, Nashville, Memphis. Maybe a couple more in the southeast. We have most of them posted on our  TOUR PAGE. Or better yet visit the event section on our FACEBOOK fan page. The best part about the Facebook tour schedule is that you can RSVP, and you can invite all of your friends on facebook. If enough people do that it creates a buzz and really gets people out to our show. You know how we like it when you do all the work for us.

The official release for Almanac is March 2nd (next tuesday). We thought it might be nice to give our loyal email list a jump on the orders so you will get it before everyone else. So if you would like to get our new record Almanac a week early sign up for our weekly email in the box on the right side of the screen. I know we have been releasing one track at a time all last year, but I can’t explain to you how excited I am to have the entire project completed in your hands and ears. I am excited to tour the country and see you singing along. I know some of you might be waiting for the digital release, but then you will miss out on all the beautiful artwork that Lindsey has done to cradle the record. Plus we decided that for this week of pre orders we would sign the record for anyone who asks us to. If you want to, you can all tell your friends to go to our website and sign up for the email list.

Last, but not least. . . . this week concludes our residency at the Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines, IA, and just when I was starting to feel comfortable. Mike was even serving drinks from behind the bar last week. Oh well, it has been a fun run and we have one more night to go. Join us tomorrow night if you can. Doors are at 6pm, show starts at 7pm. It is all ages until 9pm (when we are officially required to be done playing. We’ll see how that goes) Anyway, thanks to those of you who have joined us this month, hope to see some of you again tomorrow.

Love and fresh baked bread,
The Nadas

Question of the week – Is there a town that you don’t see on our upcoming tour dates that you think we should play, if so . . . what venue?
